Description: | On the Hills of Spessa, south of Cividale, a Latin and Lombard pearl, in the heart of Friuli, we find Azienda Agricola La Sclusa.On the Hills of Spessa, south of Cividale, a Latin and Lombard pearl, in the heart of Friuli, we find Azienda Agricola La Sclusa. Its vines are rooted in the marly soils typical of these areas, the Colli Orientali del Friuli, which have always been synonymous with excellent wines, by natural vocation. Here, the Zorzettig della Sclusa (a curious nickname that originates from a locality located downstream from the winery), passionately devote themselves to the culture of the vine, combining family tradition, experience and modern winemaking techniques, making fine wines from excellent grapes, unmistakable for their flavors and richness of aromas. In 1971 Gino Zorzettig took over the winery, until then run by his father “TITA” (for everyone “TRAMUNTIN”). In the beginning, wine production was reserved for a few customers who to this day are still loyal. With the collaboration of his sons Germano, Maurizio and Luciano, in the 1980s he began the conversion of the winery with the construction of the new spacious and functional cellar and with the planting of new vineyards, especially native whites to make the most of the vocation of this territory. Nowadays La Sclusa boasts of numerous awards for the quality of its wines; of particular note are Friulano, Ribolla Gialla and Picolit. Recently the winery has provided agritourism accommodation with comfortable rooms. The characterization of the winery is being able to know the peculiarities of each product by enhancing the feeling that each variety of wine offers. In addition, the winery adheres to a project for the use of low-impact products in defense of the integrity of the territory for the protection of the consumer. Family management, rationalization of all operations, and the use of packaging aimed at only essential expenses allow us to keep prices down and thus pass these savings on to our customers. |
